My grandmother, Lucy Kuhn, a pharmacist, had Hereford cows. Her brother, Boots Kubela,
raised Brahmans in Matagorda County. When I moved to Runnels County in 1960, I put some
Brahman bulls on the Hereford cows. Most neighbors thought I was crazy. County AG agent,
C.T. Parker, loved the results.
